IWSG Wednesday: The Start of Something Great!

Happy first Insecure Writer's Support Group Wednesday for 2013. Thank you again to Alex J. Cavanaugh, the creator of the group. The first Wednesday of every month is dedicated to this group of supportive writers. If it's something you're not familiar with, then please click on Alex's link above for more information and to sign up!

I can't believe it's already the start to a new year. 2012 went by in a flash. I have a lot to be thankful for and I think I accomplished quite a bit last year. Most importantly, my daughter was born in January of 2012, so that was a major life change. Watching her grow and learn throughout the year has been humbling and inspirational. I also made the leap of changing careers, leaving my 15 years of retail customer service behind for glazing project management. It has not been an easy transition, but very rewarding and I'm learning new things every day. Then I released my first novel, Provex City, on Amazon, and finishing writing the second book in the series, SUSY Asylum. Dear God, I'm tired. What accomplishments and challenges await me in 2013?

Well, I'm starting the year off with a Provex City blog tour throughout the month of January, starting tomorrow. Click on the link above to see the tour dates and stops. SUSY Asylum is going through its final proofread and will be read to be sent to Createspace in about a month's time. I'm hoping for an April release. As soon as SUSY's submitted, I'll finally get to begin writing the third book in the series.

This brings me to a few goals I have for 2013:
  • Start and finish the manuscript for Book 3
  • Build Provex City's Amazon reviews to 100
  • Get Provex City and SUSY Asylum on all the major online retailers
It will take some work, but I think all my goals are doable. 2013 is going to be a great year. What do you have planned for this year? Would you like to share your top goals? Remember to keep your passion, stay focused, be thankful, and believe in your dreams. As always, thank you for reading!

  2. Happy 2013 Michael! Wishing you nothing but the best on your blog tour and hitting all of your goals for this year. I'll share one of mine: to listen more and speak less...it's something I know I have to work on. But here's hoping, just being cognizant of it, will help me along!

  6. You've got great goals. I can't wait to read Susy's Asylum. It sounds like you've got your work cut out for you with book three. I'm working on book 3 myself and just crossed the 20K word mark. It's getting easier as I lay down more words. I think the key is to kind of stick to 1000 words here and there whenever I can.

    1. Sounds like we're in about the same boat, but I need to catch up! Yeah, I try to go for 1000 words in a sit-down session when I can, but a few is always better than none.
